The Prince William Art Society (PWAS) is sponsoring a juried Best of the Region Fine Arts Show and Sale (BoR) show at the historic ARTfactory in Manassas, Virginia, held on June 3-15, 2025. PWAS invites artists in the above regions to submit an application for the show.

The PWAS goal in hosting BoR is to further promote the visual arts culture and art appreciation in Northern Virginia. The PWAS commitment to the emerging as well as established artists is to showcase the wide and diverse talent and creativity found right here where we live, work, and play. BoR is offering to showcase “excellence in art” with an impartial and qualified Juror Artist to select and award outstanding artwork.

HOW TO ADD YOUR ENTRY SUBMISSIONS
IMAGE FILE: Juried-In work will not only be on display at ARTfactory, but will also be displayed in an Online Gallery, available for viewing during the show. Make sure you submit a professional high-quality image both for jurying and for potential buyers to view your work at its best.
ARTWORK DIMENSIONS: The minimum size of art (the canvas) to submit is 16x16 inches and the maximum is up to 40x40 inches. Gallery wrapped canvases should be a depth of 1.5 inches. Smaller depths should be framed.
The DIMENSIONS listed for the Art - should be size of image/canvas (surface) – not the framed size.
ACCEPTED MEDIA: Submissions must be original, non-reproduceable work by living artists.
ABOUT 2D ART: All artwork MUST BE original, 2-Dimensional artworks in – Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor Paintings; Drawing, Encaustic, Pastel, and Mixed Media (combination of 2D media, list main components used). Digital art is also allowed.
Due to space limitations: No Photography, Collage or Fabric art and no AI generated art.
IMPORTANT FRAMING INFO: Framing is always an important consideration for any artwork and selling that art piece. It is important to remember that art buyers (and potential Jurors / Judges) also study the framing of the piece when making a purchase, so make sure your artwork is framed appropriately and enhances its visual appeal.
Accepted 2D artwork must be framed or on gallery-wrapped canvas with painted edges. Gallery-wrapped canvas should be a minimum of 1½” canvas depth – not smaller. Finished sides mean that on the edges either the image continues over the edges OR the sides are painted and finished.
The artistic work submitted by each artist is juried based upon the following criteria:

The People’s Choice will be voted on by the public as they visit the BoR Show at the ARTfactory. PWAS will be awarding ribbons and a monetary award.
The Prince William Art Society (PWAS) is 501(c)3 non-profit organization made up of local artists living in and around Prince William County, Virginia. PWAS is dedicated in the promotion, the creation and appreciation, the understanding and exhibition of the visual fine arts in Northern Virginia.
PWAS and the ARTfactory receives 30% of the sales price of each piece, which helps fund the Best of the Region Fine Art Show as well as the Jewell Pratt Burns Art Scholarship given annually to at least one PWC student who is pursuing a degree in art education. The artist receives 70% of the sale price.

Any artwork that is unclaimed after thirty (30) days following the conclusion of the Best of the Region Show and the Art Pick-Up date (June 15 and 16) will become the property of the Prince William Art Society (PWAS).
